What you can do

Write separate letters to Mayor and Council, stating your objection to this tax and why you should individually be exempt, or state objection to the tax and why it is generically unfair to many in different situations.  Make sure the Mayor and each Councilor receives their own separate email.

(If you feel you cannot use your name and email, maybe use a descriptive name like 67 years old False Creek Resident or Yaletown businesswoman and get a new gmail account – they are simple to get and set up.)

The mayor and council can be reached at:  click here

You can also fill in this form online:

This goes to staff rather than Council and staff need to know our objections as well. Be sure to ask when staff are reporting back to Council on this topic.

When staff reports to council, as many of us as possible should be at that council meeting to speak to it.
